If you are reporting a problem, these three things make it much easier to fix:

The things that come up

How do I erase my progress?

Settings → ERASE PROGRESS, then confirm. That clears your levels, high score and counters from the device. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy of it anywhere else.

I changed phones and my progress is gone.

Progress is saved on the device and is never uploaded, so it does not follow you to a new phone. Your Game Center score does, because Apple keeps that under your Game Center account.

The leaderboard is empty, or my score is not on it.

Only runs played from Level 1 all the way through are submitted — a run resumed part-way is scored and saved on your phone, but it is not comparable with a full run, so it is not put on a public board next to one. You also need to be signed in to Game Center. If you are not, the game says so plainly on that screen and shows your local best instead.

The game is too loud, too flashy, or too fast to read.

Settings has SOUND, HAPTICS, REDUCE FLASHES, BOLDER FISH and CALMER MENUS. Bolder Fish thickens the outlines and makes expressions easier to read, which matters most in the later Waters, where colour stops being a reliable signal.

Do I need an account? Is there anything to buy?

No account, ever. Levels 1–11 are free, and so is GLACIER in THE ABYSS once Level 11 is cleared. The full game — Levels 12–23, the rest of THE ABYSS, and new places and levels as they are added — is an optional auto-renewing subscription: $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year. There is no advertising, and the app collects nothing about you.

How do I restore or cancel my subscription?

To restore it on a new device or after reinstalling, open SETTINGS and tap RESTORE PURCHASES, signed in with the Apple Account you subscribed with. To cancel, go to your Apple Account settings in the App Store, or tap MANAGE SUBSCRIPTION in Settings. If you downloaded TOO SALTY while the whole game was free, you already have the full game.
